ERIN INVICTA EVERLY

 

• Erin Invicta Everly  is a woman who inspired the most beautiful songs in rock history ; (born November 8, 1965 in Los Angeles, California) is the daughter of Don Everly, former model (Wilhelmina Models) and the ex-wife of Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose. She was the inspiration for Guns N' Roses songs "Sweet Child o' Mine", "Estranged", "Don't Cry", "November Rain" and "This I Love" .

 

PERSONAL LIFE

 

• Everly was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Don Everly of the EVERLY BROTHERS and actress Venetia Stevenson.  Her siblings are brother musician Edan Everly and sister Stacy Everly. Soap opera actress Anna Lee was her grandmother and her grandfather was Robert Stevenson (director). She is also niece to Phil Everly from the Everly Brothers and niece to Jeffrey Byron. She moved to New York in 1982 to model for Wilhelmina Models. Erin appeared in many print ads and commercials in the 80s for the likes of Jordache, Bebe, Guess and many more.

• Erin met Axl Rose at a Los Angeles party in 1986. Then only 19 years old, she was embarking on a modeling career in New York City. Axl was  still largely unknown as Appetite would not be released until the following year. "It was the first relationship I had had", she told People magazine in 1994. "I felt like we were two people who didn't have much but who had found each other." The pair quickly fell for each other and Everly relocated to L.A. Rose and Everly were wed on April 28, 1990 in Las Vegas. Their marriage was annulled in January 1991.

• More than two decades ago - 1989, to be exact a soaring love ballad by the unlikeliest of bands hit No.1 on the charts and won a Video Music Award for Best Heavy Metal Video. The tune was "Sweet Child O' Mine" by notorious bad boys Guns N' Roses, an unexpected tender moment on an otherwise caustic album (the appropriately titled Appetite For Destruction, which has sold close to 30 million copies worldwide to date). 

• SCOM originated as a letter writen by Axl to Erin, and after than GNR guitarist Slash impromptued an interesting guitar solo, Rose fitted in his infinished letter as the lyrics for what would become one of the most popular rock songs in rock n' roll history. Erin appeared in two music videos by Guns N' Roses: "Sweet Child o' Mine" and the unreleased video for "It's So Easy".

• Erin currently lives in Atlanta and has chosen to stay out of the public spotlight for years. She is a single mom to  son Easan, daughters Eres and Esper.
